SNOWMOBILING - TRAILS FOR ADVENTURES

The West Country is open to snowmobiles and the area usually has an abundance of snow.

Snowmobiling in the Clearwater area will accommodate every family member, from the beginners, to intermediate, to the advanced on all types of terrain.

Snowmobilers should be aware of the rules in the west country as there are some restrictions for use in the area.

There are four major mustering areas that are recommended: Chambers creek, the Nordegg trail system, Mount Baldy and the Bighorn Backcountry.

One can snowmobile on cut lines, pipelines, power lines, old railroads, old roads, run rivers and old historic trails. While playing in the snow covered meadows, alpine valleys and mountain slope, one can watch all kinds of wildlife along the trails. At this point you better have your camera with you, for there will be a photo opportunity on every turn. There are signed and unsigned trails in the west country and they are managed by the Rocky Mountain Sledders Club and the Caroline Club. Both clubs have members that will guide groups on these wonderful trails.

A snowmobile adventure can be one hour, to many days with winter camping or staying in the many fine accommodations in Rocky Mountain House and other area communities.

Rocky Mountain House is in the heart of Clearwater County and is a snomobiler's playground. This is truly "Where your snowmobiling adventure begins".
